"Matters of Life" Now Being Read in Epworth

A Wonderful Team: (From left) One of the Domboramwari High School Young Writers Club Patrons Ms. O Mawire, poet Sympathy Sibanda Mazuruse and husband Takemore Mazuruse, Mr. Masuku a WIN Epworth branch member

Isn’t it a great blessing and inspiration to a community or school when a writer/ poet visit it to talk to its young people about ‘matters of life’ and leave them with his/her books?
Poet Sympathy Sibanda –Mazuruse was an inspiration to Domboramwari High School Young Writers Club on Friday, September 30, 2016, when she visited the club and donated copies of her debut 2010 poetry collection Matters of Life. In the company of her husband Takemore Mazuruse who also loves books and writing, she motivated the club and urged the members to do away with self-belittling attitudes which prevent them from pursuing their dreams. She also read a few poems from her new anthology On His Bosom vs. Celestial Sympathy.
Everything was held in the cool shade of a tree that it became a poetical afternoon as poets and students took turns to perform their poetry.
The occasion, attended by the School Head Mrs. L.Z Ncube, WIN members from the Epworth community, the Club Patrons and WIN Director Beaven Tapureta, was held as a partnership between the poet and WIN-Zimbabwe which established young writers clubs in some schools in Epworth under its Epworth Outreach Programme.
Sympathy has launched her schools outreach in and outside Harare which will see her to talk about her life and works to students, and also donating a few copies.
