Zimbabwe Writers Association Invites You

Renowned writer Petina Gappah speaking at a ZWA meeting a few years ago

Dear all,

I hope I find you well. This is a reminder that we (the Zimbabwe Writers Association) are inviting you to a Reading Event in Harare during the afternoon of 10 October 2015 (12 to 4pm) at the National Arts Council Music Centre in the Zimsec grounds. Selected writers are being asked to read passages from OTHER writers' texts and talk briefly about them, saying why they like these passages. Ignatius Mabasa will be reading from various old poets like W.B. Chivaura and Solomon Mutswairo. Fungai Machirori will be reading from Petina Gappah’s new book, The Book of Memory. Titus Moetsabi will be reading and talking about how he survived through poetry during his long and eventful stay in West Africa. Get onto the Mt Pleasant kombi and get down at Zimsec.

Regards

Memory Chirere, (ZWA Secretary General)

The same question about the role of literary criticism came up at a session held between literary critic and academic Professor Robert Muponde and members of a newly formed creative writing and press club at the University of Zimbabwe. To Read More...Click Here
